Rotterdam, Netherlands

This bathroom renovation in Rotterdam was executed as a complete turnkey project, with our team managing every stage — from dismantling the old interior to installing the final fixtures and lighting. The original bathroom required a full rebuild, including resurfacing, new plumbing, rewiring and structural preparation for modern installations.

From the outset, the client requested a calming, minimalist space built around earthy tones, geometric clarity and durable, low-maintenance materials. The renovation was completed within three weeks, resulting in a fully renewed bathroom that combines modern simplicity with high-quality craftsmanship.

Design Concept & Material Selection

The design vision focused on clean geometry, natural textures and seamless surfaces. To achieve a cohesive aesthetic, we used large-format beige tiles throughout the entire bathroom. These tiles were installed from floor to ceiling, ensuring continuity and eliminating visual fragmentation.

Their matte stone-effect finish introduces subtle depth and warmth, complementing the natural light entering through the horizontal window above the vanity. The tile layout was carefully aligned to create smooth, uninterrupted lines that visually expand the room and emphasize its minimalist geometry.

This combination of natural tones, geometric precision and tactile textures became the foundation of the overall design.

Custom Floating Vanity & Wash Area

One of the central elements of the bathroom is the custom-made floating wooden vanity. Designed to contrast gently with the cooler stone tones of the tiles, the warm wood finish brings balance and organic softness to the space.

The suspended construction enhances the minimalist look and improves practicality by keeping the floor unobstructed. Integrated drawers provide concealed storage while maintaining clean, uninterrupted lines.

The vanity is paired with a round vessel sink and a wall-mounted bronze faucet, forming a refined and harmonious focal point. The metallic warmth of the faucet complements both the wood texture and the earthy palette of the tiling.

Lighting Concept & Atmosphere

Lighting was designed as a key component of the project. The uniquely shaped backlit mirror creates a soft, ambient glow that adds depth without overwhelming the minimalist interior. Its organic form breaks the linear geometry of the tiles, introducing a subtle artistic accent and enhancing the overall visual balance.

Walk-In Shower Zone

The walk-in shower was constructed as a recessed zone, fully integrated into the design. It features:

  • full-height tiling for a seamless appearance;
  • a discreet linear floor drain;
  • a bronze rain-shower head;
  • matching concealed controls;
  • a built-in niche finished with warm metallic accents.

The use of bronze fixtures creates continuity with the vanity faucet, while the clean geometry of the shower recess reinforces the minimalist aesthetic. The niche offers practical storage without disrupting the visual rhythm of the wall surfaces.

Final Result

The entire renovation was completed within the agreed three-week timeframe, with a project budget of €24,000. The final space reflects a harmonious blend of natural colours, contemporary fixtures, soft lighting and minimalist geometry.

The result is a serene, functional bathroom that enhances daily comfort, offers long-term durability and adds value to the Rotterdam property. The cohesive design, attention to detail and quality materials embody the essence of thoughtful, modern renovation.
