For this project in Hulst, Grand Renovation carried out a full transformation of an upper floor. The assignment included renovating the bathroom and toilet, replacing all interior doors and windows, and completely refurbishing the second floor with modern materials and a fully renewed layout. The result is a fresh, harmonious, and functional apartment ready for many years of comfortable living.
This is one of our most representative renovation examples and forms a valuable addition to our portfolio, thanks in part to the clear difference between “before” and “after.”
Situation Before Renovation
At the start, the floor was in a dated state:
-
the bathroom had old tiles, limited storage, and insufficient ventilation;
-
the toilet was small, dark, and technically due for replacement;
-
windows and doors no longer closed properly, resulting in heat loss and reduced comfort;
-
walls and floors were uneven with visible signs of wear;
-
the layout felt cramped and inconsistent.
The client’s request was clear: complete modernization, more light, better insulation, and a timeless finish.
Bathroom Transformation — From Functional to Luxury Minimalism
The bathroom was completely stripped down to the shell. All plumbing, drainage, and electricity were renewed. Then a full reconstruction followed with a sleek, modern design.
Key interventions:
-
large wall and floor tiles for a spacious effect;
-
a walk-in shower with niche and clear glass;
-
new mechanical ventilation;
-
floating vanity with integrated storage;
-
warm LED lighting that gives depth and calm to the space.
The “after” photos show a clear upgrade: a light, serene space with fresh materials and much improved functionality.
Toilet Space — Compact, Modern, and Low-Maintenance
The toilet also received a full makeover. The space was retiled, the sanitary fixtures replaced, and the lighting optimized. The result is a clean, hygienic design that perfectly matches the style of the new bathroom.
New Windows and Interior Doors — Insulation & Style in One Step
The old wooden frames and doors were removed and replaced with modern, energy-efficient versions. This improvement not only enhanced the apartment’s insulation but also gave the entire floor a uniform, contemporary look.
The new interior doors provide more light and a calm, consistent aesthetic throughout all spaces.
Complete Interior Finishing of the Second Floor
In addition to the bathroom and toilet, the entire floor was renewed:
-
walls and ceilings leveled and refinished;
-
new flooring installed;
-
sockets, switches, and lighting replaced;
-
skirting boards, frames, and moldings carefully finished;
-
color palette coordinated for a calm, modern atmosphere.
The floor now feels more spacious, brighter, and significantly more modern than before.
Time, Budget, and Execution
This renovation project was fully completed within:
-
Price: €55,000 (including materials)
-
Duration: 40 days
-
Location: Utrecht / Hulst (according to project data)
Strict adherence to planning and budget is crucial for projects of this type — and was achieved here with precision.
Before & After — The Difference Quality Makes
The comparison between the original state and the new finish shows a complete metamorphosis:
-
dark, impractical bathroom → light, wellness-inspired look;
-
dated toilet space → sleek and hygienic;
-
poor frames → energy-efficient windows;
-
outdated finishes → modern, calm living environment.
This project perfectly highlights what a total renovation can achieve when every step is carefully planned and executed.
